My current process of making art is informed by the long history of humans working with wood in ever increasing mechanically ingenious ways. I am fascinated with contemporary wood shaping processes as I am in woodworking processes from 100 years ago. I am particularly interested in exploring woodworking processes from 18th century America in contrast to contemporary machine made 3d designs. I often use wood as a medium as I like wood’s authentic and primary relationship to manual labor.
As a lifelong artist, I’m always looking for the next opportunity to translate my everyday experiences into artistic expressions.
